Birra Itala Pilsen poster – Vintage Food&Drink Poster – Beer, Wines & Spirits Wall Art – c1920 This stunning Birra Itala Pilsen poster is, quite obviously, heavily influenced by other Italian poster artists such as Leonetto Cappiello, Jean D’Ylen and Achille Mauzan. However, it has never been attributed to any of them and because the painting is unsigned, the name of the actual artist remains anonymous. Whoever the artist was they seem to have been inspired by the classic Greek mythology of the Four Dancing Muses. The four dancing women have been depicted by countless fine artists over the centuries. The artist has skillfully brought the girls into the modern era with a vibrant depiction on the poster. Clad in short, flapper-style Charleston dresses, the four ladies dance with exuberance, hand in hand, swirling around a cool pint of Birra Itala as though it was a maypole. The tall glass of Italian pale lager casts a golden glow that illuminates the faces and bodies of two of the women amidst the nighttime darkness.
