The Beatles Cavern Club poster – The Beatles 30 November 1962

$40.5 $53.87
The Beatles Cavern Club poster – The Beatles 30 November 1962 It seems incredible now, but in those early days of the Merseybeat Scene and British Rock and Roll, information and details were not something anybody, it seems, wanted to retain. It’s why so few early posters survive. Dozens of performances have been lost to time. Setlists weren’t used, kept, bothered about! Even, it seems by the members of the Beatles or their entourage. Nobody expected it to last! This is why the precise number of Cavern performances by the world’s biggest band is not known. What is known is that between 9 February 1961 and 3 August 1963 The Beatles did play at least 155 lunchtime and 125 evening shows at the Mathew Street music venue. The two lunchtime performances advertised on this fab concert poster are considered the band’s 146th lunchtime performance and their 261st appearance at the famous Liverpool cellar club. The poster encourages fans to Come Along Early! This is our reproduction of one of the earliest and rarest of all Beatles concert posters. The poster was created specifically for the lunchtime concert, and is the only known example from the event. The original hand-painted artwork measured 30″ x 20″. The Beatles are listed as appearing onstage twice on Friday Lunchtime. The performances taking place at 12.20pm and 1.40pm with a slot in between going to Pete Maclaine and The Dakotas at 1.00pm. The poster marks a significant moment in the history of The Beatles who had not only secured a recording contract with Parlophone in June but had recently released their debut single Love Me Do. The single peaked at number seventeen in the Record Retailer chart. It was the start of a meteoric rise for the band. Over the course of their career, The Beatles made a total of 292 known appearances at The Cavern Club. There would only be another thirty shows The Beatles would play the Mathew Street venue again. It wouldn’t be long before they were too big to play the Cavern any longer. How much is The Beatles Cavern Club Friday lunchtime poster worth? Well, there are so many things going for it. It’s an early Beatles poster, It is in remarkable condition for its age. It is a hand-painted example that features striking, brightly-coloured text, and most importantly it is a one-off item. Yes! It’s worth a small fortune. The poster for The Beatles’ 30 November 1962 show was auctioned at Christie’s in London on 12 June 2012commanding a sale price of £27,500 ($42,500) over a decade ago. There’s no argument from us, if you can find an original copy and can afford to buy it, you’re on to a winner. There’s nothing like owning an original vintage poster and they often make a great investment. Chances are in just a few years you’ll be able to sell it for more than you paid for it. Unfortunately, for most of us, an investment, even at the entry-level prices of the collectible poster isn’t even close to being a possibility. This is where our stunning high-quality reproductions come into their own. They cost a fraction of an original and look absolutely fantastic when they’re framed and hung on your living room wall. Let’s face it, there are some very wealthy Beatles fans out there. And, with just one original out there, you’re never going to get to own the real thing. If you like the poster the only way to own one is a reproduction poster print. Ours is available in a choice of sizes to suit your wall space. It looks amazing, especially in the larger sizes. Order your copy with your lunchtime drinks. You won’t be disappointed.
